Guitar Motivation - Why You Can't Seem To Keep Playing

By Kyle Hoffman

So you go out and get that new snazzy guitar, have a couple quick jam sessions, and then just can't take it anymore. It seems pretty odd, but you might be like hundreds of other beginning guitarists that become frustrated and can't regain the drive to continue playing.

When you have discouraging thoughts implanted in your head, it's hard to get them out to do anything, even learn a new instrument like the guitar. Get back some of your guitar motivation by looking over this quick list of reasons why you might not be picking up your instrument again.

1. There are not enough hours in a day. With all of the obligations of working and taking care of a family, learning a new talent like playing the guitar can seem like a hassle. However, fitting in even the smallest amount of time like ten minutes per day can stir up a sudden drive that might motivate you to continue even more.

2. You're not making goals. Goals are what can keep you driving forward and looking towards the future. By setting goals for yourself, you now have an obligation to make more time and to achieve a reasonable success that will fuel your guitar motivation.

3. Your goals are too much to handle. Asking yourself to do too much by setting your goals too high can lean you in the direction of frustration and giving up. By setting smaller goals that are reasonable, you can receive tiny bits of gratification that will fuel even more guitar motivation to continue.

4. The things you have to play are not what you want to play. When you're having fun on the guitar, you feel on top of the world, but dumb scales and practice riffs can get in the way of your good time. Sometimes you need to put your scales to the side and just mess around with chords and fun songs to get back into the realm of enjoyment.

5. You don't write out what you hope to accomplish. A very powerful motivation technique is to create a personal contract for yourself that states what you promise to accomplish and then signing it. It sounds corny, but your chances of completing your goals are much higher with this tangible item to remind you.

6. You don't want to fail. Failure is one of the worst common fears and it's even prevalent in learning new talents such as the guitar. Just remind yourself that you have nothing to lose, that it's a talent that can stay hidden if you want, and you can go at any pace you desire.

With so many factors opposing you, it can be difficult for anything to convince you to sit down and pick up the guitar. However, as soon as you realize that learning this talent is small and can be taken at any pace you feel necessary, you can get your guitar motivation back. - 30404

The Beatles In Stereo - Review Of The Remastered Beatles Box Set

By Henry J. Jamison Jr.

Many Beatles fans already own all of their albums on CD and may be wondering if they should really buy their whole catalog on CD again simply because they have been "remastered."

The Beatles In Mono Box Set's appeal is easy to see. The mono mixes in that box are making their very first appearance on CD and considering that the mono mixes are the ones the band themselves worked so hard on, it seems obvious that every real Beatles fan will want a copy.

Sound quality is the big draw with The Beatles Stereo Box Set but you don't have to be an audiophile to appreciate the improvement in sound quality. The improvement is so obvious that sometimes it almost sounds like the songs have actually been remixed as well as being remastered ("Long Long Long" is a great example of this huge improvement.)

To describe the difference in clarity between these new stereo Beatles CDs and the old ones I've read the example of going from DVD to Blu-Ray on a movie. You don't really know how much better it can look until you see the high definition version. It's sort of like that when you hear these remastered CDs for the first time.

But I actually this it's a far more revelatory experience than seeing a movie in high definition because hearing each of the parts of The Beatles music clearly really adds a lot more depth to the appreciation of the music more so than seeing a crisper version of a movie adds more appreciation to the viewing of that movie.

Hearing these newly remastered Beatles CDs is like hearing them for the first time. Yes, the improvements in warmth & clarity are that big!

They worked on these getting these remasters just perfect for years and all of that work has definitely paid off because they managed to do something which is very difficult which is to keep the original analog sound of the tapes while also improving upon the clarity of the music.

The most obvious improvement in the sound is with the bass and the drums. With the old CDs the bass and drums were too often buried in the mix. Not anymore. Now they propel the songs forward as they were intended to.

When I heard about this remastering project I was concerned. I was worried that they would suck the "life" out of The Beatles recordings in an attempt to make them super "loud" (I recommend looking into the "loudness wars" to discover part of the reason so much modern music sounds awful.) I was worried they would take out all of the ambiance in an effort to make a perfectly "modern" (ie: sterile) recording. Luckily, they didn't make any of these mistakes. They did a perfect job. - 30404

Picking Out The Right Song To Sing On Stage

By Taylor Gale

The largest determination that anyone has to make for karaoke is what song they should undertake on stage. There are literally hundred of thousands of tracks accessible with most karaoke sets, so it can be discouraging looking through the great book of songs, but if you keep in mind a few points it will make your night simpler, and render as much enjoyment as possible.

First, ensure that you pick a karaoke track that suits your voice. Whether it is your 1st time or 101st time, you have to make sure that you can achieve at least majority of the notes you need. If you have a deep voice, there is no point of opting music stars like Celine Dion or Whitney Houston, and the same goes for high-pitch voices; Barry White should be out of the question. Instead choose karaoke songs that accommodate within your vocal range, and that way instead of concerning about if you can hit that difficult note coming up, you will be able to loosen and just enjoy the song.

Choosing the correct karaoke track also depends on what you are getting up stage for. If you are with acquaintances, and looking at getting up as a group for a bit of fun, it is prudent to choose an up-tempo song that fits your mood instead of a slow ballad. If you are a regular, and want to take something a bit more difficult, there is nothing incorrect in picking out a slower song if you can address it.

If you're celebrating an adult / older folks birthday with a karaoke party. You want to know what songs to choose. Do your preparation. You don't want to take any old karaoke song; you want to pick out karaoke music that stirs a sense of nostalgia. Find out what songs were modern when the party honoree grew up. Your greatest bet is to determine the top 10 songs of each year or decade and build up your play list around those songs.

But a minute hint to think about most karaoke bars is that most individuals are out to have a good time, so picking out a slow and sober song that does not truly fit the atmosphere of the room can have sharp outcomes.

Ultimately, when selecting your karaoke song it is best to find a song with a tune and words that you are at least intimate with. You do not have to recognise every song you get up stage for off by heart (thats why the karaoke screens are there to help you) but selecting a karaoke song that you have heard more than once or twice will give you a bit more assurance in singing on stage. - 30404
