It happened to me last week when my friend had two tickets for the Blue Man group show and this was the first instance when I had a chance of witnessing the live performance of this amazing group. But after witnessing that particular performance the previous week, I went for nearly twelve shows as of now. Learning to Play the Violin in Easy Steps

Learning to play the violin can be one of the most challenging goals that you undertake. Although the violin is a beautiful instrument with lovely tone, it can be an extraordinarily difficult instrument to master. Here are some tips, however, that can get you started.

While the violin is most notably used in classical music, it has a place in all genres of music, making it a very versatile instrument. When used in an orchestra, it is usually the main instrument used for the melody.

Finding a quiet place where you can concentrate without being interrupted is one of the first things that you need to do when learning to play the violin. A straight back chair, as well as a music stand to hold your sheet music, are two very good things to include in this space.

Using one of your one of your thumbs, pluck each string in order to hear its pitch and to check its tension. If you're just starting out, you might want to think about using a piano or a pitch pipe to tune the instrument to G-D-A-E.

Using some pressure, position the bow hair on top of the "G" string. Draw a straight line until you reach the end and then go in the opposite direction. You should do this slowly in the beginning to get the feel of it.

These are the fundamental steps in learning to play the violin. Naturally, it does get more complex after this. Still, even though you might find it hard to master at first, don't forget to have patience and continuing to practice. The Phantom of the Opera: A Review with Opera Glasses

As time goes on the Phantom come to one of the performers; Christine, and tells her that her father who has passed away, has sent him from heaven to give her voice lessons. The Phantom begins to train her through the walls of her dressing room, as these take place over the course of time Christine becomes a remarkable singer, and takes the leading role in the opera.

During a performance one day, while on stage, Christine passes out and Raoul, a childhood friend of Christine who happens to be sitting in the audience comes to her rescue. Raoul falls in love with Christine, and begins to visit with her and bring flowers to her after many performances.

Erik begins to become jealous of Raoul, and their relationship. Erik can no longer hold himself back from seeing Christine and meeting her in person. Of course, Erik is wearing his famous mask. Erik brings Christine to his area where he hides out and lives under the opera house.

Christine becomes frightened and angered at Erik and wants to be let go back out into the world. Erik makes a promise to let her go after five days of being with him. Erik gives Christine a tour of his home which if very strange and horrific. Chills will be sent down your spine. Make sure you have your opera glasses out for this moment in the theatre.

Christine cannot wait to see just who Erik is and why the mask is on his face. She grabs his mask and quickly takes it off during a remarkable duet. We will not reveal the ending of this wonderful performance; suffice it to say it is an epic one. You will never forget the impressions that this musical leaves on your heart. The costumes, music and storyline will truly astound you. This is a performance that demands to be seen again and again to full appreciate, for this reason it has remained on Broadway so long! I personally cannot think of a better way to share yourself to others then through singing. You use your voice almost every minute of every day for everything. But genuinely opening up and singing is not only enjoyable but a lovely art form. Be aware that this does take patience and practice. Your voice is your instrument. I come from the camp that believes we all can sing. Now I'm not saying that there aren't singers out there that genuinely have a pure gift, but with some work and help anybody can sing. Singing must be worked at and practiced like everything else.

The voice needs to be worked and exercised like any other part of your body you would want stronger. So get set for some vocal stretching, voice warm ups and even some cool downs.

The easiest and most perfect exercise to limber up or cool down is to softly hum. You can hum anytime and you should do it all the time. This really wakes up the chords and gives them a good warm buzz. Everyone knows how to hum but there is a correct way. Go slow and easy, at a soft volume, using Mmm or Nnn. There should be no strain in your neck or throat. Our aim is a gentle and easy hum.

Now we want to work these hums using scales moving both up and down. If you find your voice cracking at the top of your range, stop. Don't look to force it up there. Just loosen up and move back down the scale nice and relaxed. We never want to force anything. Also do not tense up anything, this will obstruct your voice if anything, so keep your neck and throat relaxed. Keep in mind it will take practice to build your voice.

So how can we sing without tension? Well with proper breath support. Breathing is a very important part of the process. You really need to learn about your diaphragm and how to breath from it. This is the muscle that regulates breathing. When the diaphragm gets confused the worst feeling in the world starts, hiccups.

I know this may sound strange but pant like a dog for a few seconds. Try that or use the "hut hut" like a quarterback. If you do this accurately you should feel the pressure from just under your ribs. Sometimes you hear people say "sing from your belly" this is what they actually mean. It will take time and exercise to get this diaphragm muscle functioning in sync with our voice but when it does, watch out.

Don't ever stop vocal training without cooling down with at least a few more gentle hums. If you serious about singing you will realize that this takes continuous work. Be aware of what you are putting into your body. Particular foods like dairy or spicy foods are terrible for your vocal chords. Keeping tabs on your speaking volume is important as well. We don't want to blow out our voice.

Singing well takes hard work and time. It is an all day job because we need to pay attention to what we eat, how we talk, and then spend time practicing.
