Dracula: Farfetched, bewildering narrative of current time's successor, Dr. Van Helsing (Cushing) fighting the recently brought back to life vampire (Lee). Cast includes Peter Cushing, Christopher Lee, Stephanie Beacham, Michael Coles, Christopher Neame, and Caroline Munro. (100 minutes, 1992)
A Face in the Rain: A WW2 drama that is at times anxious with Calhoun as a U.S. espionage agent being concealed in Italy by a local anti-Nazi who's the mistress of a German officer. Cast includes Rory Calhoun, Marina Berti, Niall MacGinnis, and Massimo Giuliani. (91 minutes, 1963)
Hackers: A group of young computer specialists are framed for crimes committed by pc whiz and could-be master felon Stevens. They have to use their own computer abilities to demonstrate their innocence. It is quick paced and the coherent directing makes it fun. Cast includes Jonny Lee Miller, Angelina Jolie, Fisher Stevens, Matthew Lillard, Laurence Mason, Jesse Bradford, Renoly Santiago, Lorraine Bracco, Wendell Perforate, Penn Jillette, Felicity Huffman, and Marc Anthony. (105 minutes, 1995)
Daniel: Extraordinary version of E. L. Doctorow's book "Daniel", this is the fictionalized story of Daniel, the son of Paul and Rochelle Isaacson, who were executed as Soviet spies in the 1950s. As a graduate student in New York in the 1960s, Daniel is caught up in the antiwar protest movement and contrasts his experiences to the reminiscence of his parents and his certainty that they were wrongfully convicted. Not without its imperfections, however in general a seductive and incredibly well-made film. Cast includes Timothy Hutton, Mandy Patinkin, Lindsay Crouse, Edward Asner, Ellen Barkin, Julie Bovasso, Tovah Feldshuh, Joseph Leon, Amanda Plummer, and John Rubinstein. (130 minutes, 1983)
The Gypsy Moths: Account of 3 skydivers barnstorming across Kansas. Ending is a spectacular high diving skydiving show. Cast includes Burt Lancaster, Deborah Kerr, Gene Hackman, Scott Wilson, Bonnie Bedelia, and William Windom (110 minutes, 1969)
The Seniors: 4 college students start a fake sex hospital, which mushrooms into a multi million dollar industry. The movie is alternately stupid and sarcastic, with some harmless nudity thrown in. Cast includes Jeffrey Byron, Gary Imhof, Dennis Quaid, Lou Richards, PrisciIla Barnes, Alan Reed, Edward Andrews, Robert Emhardl, and Alan Hewitt. (87 minutes, 1978)
Lost Command: Tight, well-made story of French-Algerian guerrilla warfare in North Africa, with Quinn as the peasant who has risen to a place of authority. Fine global cast, excellent direction, and some top notch action roles mix very well. Cast includes Anthony Quinn, Alain Delon, George Segal, Michele Morgan, Maurice Ronet, Claudia Cardinale, Gregoire Asian, and Jean Servais. (130 minutes, 1966)
Isadora: Extremely long, yet gripping examination of Isadora Duncan, one of the first of modern dancers and most significant free-thinkers of her time. Absorbing method and carefully examined behaviors combine together in this exceptional biography. A third interpretation was released for TV in 1987 under the same title. Cast includes Vanessa Redgrave, James Fox, Jason Robards, Ivan Tchenko, John' Fraser, Bessie Love, and Cynthia Harris. (131 minutes, 1968)
A Fool and His Money: A sordid ad man begins a new creed based on greed and selfishness. In the expected finale, he discovers the beauty of altruism. Sandra Bullock shines as the dubious girlfriend in this movie that came out before she became a star. Cast includes Jonathan Penner, Sandra Bullock, George Plimpton, Jerzy Kosinski, and Tama Janowitz. (84 minutes, 1988)
