Mrs. Brown, You've got a Lovely Daughter: A stupid reprieve for a film, with Herman and his Hermits heading for London to enter their greyhound in a race. In between the anticipation they harmonize "There's a Sort of Quiet All around the Planet" Cast includes Herman's Hermits, Stanley Holloway, Mona Washbourne, Sara Caldwell, and Javelin Percival. (100 minutes, 1984)

Holes: Boy from an offbeat family is sent to an odd desert camp where it's trusted that digging holes will develop one's character. As he gets to know the other black sheep amid the kids and staff pieces of his life start to come together and make sense. Cast includes Sigourney Weaver, Jon Voight, Patricia Arquette, Tim Blake Nelson, Dule Hill, Henry Winkler, Nate Davis, Rick Fox, Scott Plank, Eartha Kitt, Siobhan Fallon Hogan, and Brenden Jefferson. (118 minutes, 2003)

They Won't Forget: Thrilling drama starts while pretty high school scholar is killed in Southern town. A gentleman is arrested, and a well known Northern attorney takes the case, however everyone appears more fascinated with capitalizing on personal desires than in due process. No punches are held in this still-commanding film. Lana Turner plays the unlucky gal, in her first big role. Cast includes Claude Pours, Gloria Dickson, Otto Kruger, Allyn Joslyn, Elisha Chef, Jr., and Edward Norris. (95 minutes, 1937)

Good Times: Back while the harmonizing twosome was still considered wacky, they made this entertaining little film, with Sonny day dreaming about their potential film roles and he and Cher harmonizing "I Got You Hottie." Cast includes Sonny and Cher, George Sanders, Norman Alden, and Larry Duran. (91 minutes, 1967)

The Mystery of Edwin Drood: A seemingly honorable English choirmaster (Pours) is essentially accountable for a terrible murder. This is an excellent Hollywood adaptation of Charles Dickens' incomplete novel, which inspired a Broadway musical in the 1985. Cast includes Claude Pours, Douglass Montgomery, E. E. Clive, and Valerie Hobson. (87 minutes, 1935)

Black Windmill the Dracula: Classic terror film of Transylvanian vampire performing his malevolent spell on puzzled group of Londoners. Lugosi's most renowned role with his definitive explanation of the Tally, ditto Frye as looney Renfield and Van Sloan as unflappable Professor Van Helsing. Cast includes Bela Lugosi, David Behaviors, Helen Chandler, Dwight Frye, Edward Van Sloan, Herbert Bunston, and Frances Dade. (75 minutes, 1931)

Dragonfly: An ER doctor, mourning for his lifeless spouse, acquires a succession of signals from her-containing messages from youthful subjects who've had near-death experiences. What do they mean? More drawn out than it needs to be, although a captivating and abnormal tale of one guy's metaphysical odyssey. Cast includes Kevin Costner, Kathy Bates, Joe Morton, Ron Rifkin, Linda Seek, Susanna Thompson, Jacob Vargas, Jay Thomas, and Matt Craven. (103 minutes, 2002)

Slaughter's Big Ripoff: A murderer is still playing games with the Mob in this dull actioner. McMahon gives more effort to his role as the mob boss than it merits. Cast inccludes Jim Brown, Ed McMahon, Brock Peters, Don Stroud, Gloria Hendry, Dick Anthony Williams, and Art Metrano. (93 minutes, 1973)

Alfie Darling: Forgettable continuation to Alfie, with Cost a most insufficient substitute for Michael Caine. This time around our idol falls for a fashionable publication editor. Cast includes Alan Cost, Jill Townsend, Joan Collins, Annie Ross, Sheila White, and Rula Lenska. (102 minutes, 1975)
