By Janet C Phillips

Everybody loves to laugh and most everybody appreciates a humorous movie. If you are in the frame of mind for some chuckles here are a few comedies that may be worth downloading tonight.

Comical motion picture but for grown-ups only, check out "The 40 Year Old Virgin". Steve Carell plays Andy Sitzer, an attractive but sexually inexperienced 40-year-old man. When his friends and co-workers find out, they all go on a mission to get him laid. Numerous comical mishaps and adventures ensue.

Later on, he discovers love on his own with Trish, a 40-year-old single mother of three and he discovers that everything is better when you love an individual. Rated R for persistent sexual content, occasional drug use and bad language. Not recommended for kids or people who are easily uncomfortable or upset by sexual situations. Starring Steve Carell, Catherine Kenner, Paul Rudd, Seth Rogan, Elizabeth Banks and more. Movie was released in the year 2005.

Next up is an exceedingly hilarious motion picture, "Dodgeball, A True Underdog Story". Very funny but pretty silly movie about Peter, the owner of Average Joe's gym and how he must save the gym from being taken over by the Globo Gym Franchise.

Vince Vaughn stars as Peter, with Ben Stiller as White Goodman, the super fit, super rich, extremely arrogant president and founder of the Globo Gym franchise. There is a fun and unforeseen cameo by cyclist Lance Armstrong. Can the underachievers win a dodgeball contest in order to save the gymnasium?

The third recommendation is a funny movie that is based upon an even funnier television series from the 1960's. "The Beverly Hillbillies" is adapted from the hilarious TV series of the same name. The Clampetts move to Beverly Hills when they become millionaires after finding oil on their Arkansas land.

Well cast with Jim Varney as Jed Clampett and Cloris Leachman as Granny. Lily Tomlin plays Miss Jane Hathaway. Diedrich Bader is cast as the part of Jethro Bodine and Erika Eleniak fits the role of Elly Mae Clampett. Directed by Penelope Spheeris, from the year 1993. A great adaptation, yet not anything could be funnier than the original television series.
